Two drop-in public consultation events held inviting feedback on proposals for Saxon Park, the new local centre at Overstone Leys new settlement. The event formed stage two of the consultation following a virtual consultation earlier in the year.
Mark Rothery, Managing Director at Rothstone Estates said:
“I would like to thank everyone who responded to the virtual consultation and has provided their feedback so far. As a result, we have made some amendments to the scheme and would like to give the community another opportunity to comment on the plans.
“This time, we’re able to hold a face-to-face event, meaning we can explain the proposals and answer any questions in person.”
Subject to planning permission, the site, located on the corner parcel of land next to the A43 Kettering Road/Sywell Road roundabout, would serve the new and existing communities. The proposals include new shops, a BP petrol station with convenience shop, Costa Coffee, Burger King, a day nursery and offices/work spaces for local companies.
“We have made some amendments to the layout with more of a focus on pedestrians and the public realm, as well as further landscaping and greenery. We have had encouraging interest from local businesses who would like to be at Saxon Park and we’re keen to support independent and local businesses here.”
